Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2007 - Milwaukee, WI
This year's AGM will be held the 23rd-25th of March in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On Friday the 23rd there will be a day long professional development workshop, Curriculum for Change, which is open to all educators. The workshop will include training and information on human rights education, as well as an overview of resources and materials offered by the HRE program. The attendance fee is $25 and includes both breakfast and lunch.

Speak Truth to Power (STTP) - Nashville, Tennessee
STTP is a multi-faceted project that includes a book written by Kerry Kennedy, a play, a photography exhibit, and a DVD, as well as a companion guide for educators. The project focuses on the power of the individual to effect social change and seeks to empower learners to ask the question, "How can I speak truth to power?"
- STTP in Nashville
- • An exhibit consisting of photos of various human rights defenders taken by Pulitzer-prize winning photographer Eddie Adams will be on display at the Tennessee State Museum for the month of February.
- • Various human rights defenders chronicled in the book will visit Nashville area schools to speak with students.
- • Educators will be given an information packet preparing them for visits with defenders, as well as copies of the STTP curriculum guide which includes several lesson plans, activities, discussion questions and the text of the play.
- • A performance of the play Speak Truth to Power: Voices from Beyond the Dark, written by Ariel Dorfman, will take place on May 8, 2007 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
